1. You joined KES as a NetSuite Consultant, and now split your time between Consultant and Product Manager. How did this evolution in your role happen and how do you split your time between two very different functions?

Outside of work, I consider myself an artist. I have always enjoyed creating paintings, especially based on ideas that friends and family give me. When I joined KES, one of my first NetSuite deployments included some KES Extensions as standard customizations. As I configured the KES Extensions, I felt the same catharsis as creating a painting because I could take customer requests and successfully deliver them, much like a do with a painting. I became fascinated with all of the functionality that KES had created, and I had ideas on how to keep building on them. My passion helped me expand my knowledge of the KES Extensions, which led me to move into my new role. I also enjoy working with my clients as a consultant, so being able to continue with those responsibilities, while receiving feedback that I can apply to the KES Extensions, gives me a nice balance in my job.

2. As Product Manager, can you tell us your favorite KES Extension? And why?

That’s a tough question because so many of the KES Extensions are great, but since I have to pick one, I would say the Customer Portal is my favorite because this Extension has the most customization options. Even though our clients are happy with all the KES Extensions, I feel that the company personalization options within the Customer Portal stand out the most.

3. In your own words, what benefits do KES Extensions bring to clients/companies?

The biggest benefit of the KES Extensions is that their features are not one-off customizations that could break with a NetSuite upgrade. With the KES Extensions, we are able to customize NetSuite to meet our clients unique business processes and needs without worrying about them getting stuck in version lock. Additionally, the Extensions are designed so clients can manage them internally, which gives them a sense of ease because they don't need to reach out to KES for minor changes.

4. What extra value beyond typical NetSuite consulting do you bring to clients?

I am not afraid to say "I don’t know" but that’s because I always follow that statement with "but I will find out." As a consultant I don’t pretend to know everything, but I will do my best to get answers or refer my clients to someone who has the answer.

5. In your opinion, what are you seeing at KES that is particularly exciting?

Our team's continued research and development around KES Extensions is very exciting. NetSuite is a great platform, yet there are always possibilities to expand on what it can do. We understand that at KES and continue brainstorming on new features or products to build that can help our clients get the most out of their NetSuite investment.

6. Can you tell us about a NetSuite project that you are particularly proud of?

Each implementation I have done has had its own uniqueness. Every single one has taught me something new. My proudest moment came from an A/R Toolkit deployment where I received feedback from a client saying, “Thank you for the smooth implementation and working through our needs!” They had requested a quick go-live timeframe, and we were able to meet the deadline. I was proud of how the implementation went, and the client recognizing our value felt nice.

7. In your opinion, what differentiates KES from other NetSuite consulting firms?

The management team at KES genuinely cares about its employees, which results in a happier workforce. This positive atmosphere directly improves our work output. In addition, I can pass off any work to a coworker, and I have no doubt it will get done.

8. What do you like to do when you are not working?

I spend most of my spare time painting, being outdoors, and traveling. My goal is to eventually visit all continents.
